Fairground Works

14th June 2010

Today the groundworks for our Edwardian fun fair were started:

Below: After marking the grass it was then rotavated then excavated. This view is looking from the town.

Below: Looking over the events field towards the station and town, showing the extent of the works.

Below: Another view, with the station behind, showing the circle for the gallopers, a rectangle for other side shows and a pad to the right. All rather reminiscent of a crop circle!

Below: 29 tons of steam coal - the engines at the station have a healthy appetite for this!

Below: Peter Barlow is working through the electrics for the gallopers. All of these components have been checked and repaired as necessary - there are something like 3200 lights on the ride which gives some idea of the extent of the work required!!!
