Crich (National Tramway Museum) Visit

10th July 2009

A day trip to Crich saw Leeds 399 and Paisley 68 in passenger service on a glorious summers day.

Below: In the exhibition hall (inside a case which I think is made up from parts of a horse tram!) was this beautiful model of NuT brush works car No.66.

Below: The Chesterfield horse tram has been substituted in the exhibition display with Cardiff horse tram 21.

Below: A general depot view, dominated by London Transport 1622 with Met 331 to the left.

Below: LUT 159 inside the workshop. There has been suggestion that this tram will feature at the Blackpool 125th celebrations in 2010.

Below: Glasgow 22 in the works at Crich, Leeds 180's truck in the foreground. It is interesting to see this as it is a Peckham P35 truck, as fitted to our Sunderland 16 at Beamish. In fact, it is possible that each truck has parts of the other fitted!
