Fiddler passed its hydraulic test successfully on Tuesday. In the photo below, Joe Moore (Zurich's boiler inspector) and Vincent Allen pump the water pressure up to 300psi (150% normal working pressure) for half an hour to prove the soundness of the boiler and new tubes. This was successfully accomplished and the steamtest is planned for next Thursday.
Below: A view of the front tubeplate. This angle is normally obscured by the front rolls and it vividly illustrates the difficulty of sweeping the tubes on a steam roller!
